Summary: Single Prime Construction

Project consists of the complete decommissioning of the two existing swimming pools in the J. Evans Physical Education Building on the HACC main campus, including the compete infill of the training/lap pool and the diving pool located in the 1970 addition to the original physical education structure. The work includes the complete infill of the existing swimming pool vessels, the removal of the existing swimming pool support systems including the filtration, recirculation, and sanitation systems, including all associated piping, hangers, and supports, all electrical service to all pool related equipment, and associated conduits, and wiring back to the source of power. Incidental domestic water plumbing components serving the pools will also be removed to the source of potable water and capped for future reconnections. All demolition and removal of all incidental plumbing, and electrical systems service the existing swimming pools shall be included. Only loose or compromised existing ceramic tile and setting bed material in the natatorium area is to be removed to sound concrete suitable for the placement for a new concrete uniform floor slab suitable for future renovations. All other sound ceramic tile is to remain in place for subsequent concrete floor slab placement. The project is intended to produce a space suitable for future repurposing by the College with functions appropriate to the educational program and curriculum offered in the J. Evans Physical Education Building. The restoration and stabilization of finishes and other architectural elements for future renovation and other Work are indicated in the Contract Documents. The work is not intended to produce a finished space, rather, the work is intended to produce an environment suitable for future upgrades to be performed later. The college has removed all pool related stainless-steel rail goods and bleacher seating. All remaining elements are to be demolished and removed from the space and properly discarded.
